What, Why and How. IMS Type-2 commands and the use of Dynamic Resource Definition (DRD) are key capabilities for IMS as you move into a more dynamic environment. If you have not implemented these functions or if you have and are using resource definition data sets (RDDS) to store information, then this session describes the migration to/ implementation of the more robust IMS Repository (IMSRSC). The IMSRSC repository can maintain resource and descriptor definitions for up to 64 IMS systems in an IMSplex. This session also explains the value of using the IMSRSC and the implementation steps that are required.
