A year ago, the Open Mainframe Project (OMP) and the OpenTelemetry project
teamed up to bring modern observability to the mainframe. In this session, we’ll
review the progress made, focusing on contributions to theOpenTelemetry Semantic
Conventions and our efforts to port key components to z/OS and Linux on IBM Z.
We’ll highlight our growing collaboration with the OMP to foster greater
community participation and better address the specific needs of mainframe
users, ensuring OpenTelemetry is tailored for these environments. Attendees will
gain valuable insights into OpenTelemetry as a leading observability technology
and see how our early work adds value to the platform. Join us to discover how
these advancements are bringing modern observability to the heart of enterprise
computing.
