The MVS/SCP Project is concerned with the System Control Program (SCP) of the z/OS operating system. Included are services and functions around the SCP, such as:

• Installation and maintenance of z/OS (including deliverables like ServerPac)
• Basic z/OS services including command processing, RSM, the master scheduler
• Debugging methodologies, including IPCS
• Underlying hardware supporting the SCP (processors, channels, ESCON directors, sysplex timers, FICON)
• Hardware support software including HCD and HCM
• Macro constructs like Parallel Sysplex

Given these areas, the MVS/SCP Project schedules the following activities for SHARE attendees and member installations:

• Conducts sessions at SHARE Technical Conferences
• Submits requirements to IBM, for each of the areas for which the Project is responsible
• Prints and distributes a Newsletter
• Participates in task forces

If the answer to any of these is "yes", contact one of the project officers here! We'd love to sponsor your session at SHARE.

And speakers are eligible for a reduced conference rate! Have a topic in mind that wasn't presented, SHARE the topic idea and we'll see if we can find a speaker for it.

The MVS/SCP Project maintains a Project mailing list. This list is used to notify people when a new edition of the MVS/SCP Newsletter has been uploaded to this web page. The Newsletter contains technical articles about z/OS, information on our Project and on upcoming SHAREs, and often times Tips to make your job easier.
