DB2 Project

Our mission is to improve member's effectiveness with a focus on DB2 on all platforms and all aspects of its interactions with the Enterprise Information Environment. We:

  • Sponsor sessions presented by members, IBM personnel, and industry experts
  • Sponsor working committees
  • Foster a strong working relationship with the IBM development teams which ensures their participation in SHARE
  • Coordinate session content with other projects so that members maximize their SHARE visit
  • Gather and prioritize member requirements against our products and forward these requirements to IBM
  • Increase the ability of members to effectively use DB2 on all supported platforms
  • Provide members insight into strategic industry concerns and approaches to meeting them
  • Communicate member's tactical and strategic concerns to SHARE and IBM
  • Assist IBM in improving future products and refining current products


Project News
SHARE Tampa, February 11 - 16, 2007

There was a great collection of sessions concentrating on DB2 Version 8 and introducing DB2 9. All of these sessions were well received and had excellent technical content. There were sessions on planning for migration to Version 8, Stored Procedures, Point-In-Time Recovery, synergy with WLM, as well as several introductory sessions. We were deligated to have Bonnie Baker present two sessions for us.
