For those of you who don’t know me, I am Dusty Rivers, IMGT program manager (IMS, Database, SAN/Disk/Tape) at SHARE. I have been attending SHARE events for almost 40 years and volunteering with the organization for many of those years.
A strong community creates a sense of belonging, opportunities for growth, a support network, resources, and mutual success. I joined the IBM Z® team in 2015 with a passion for building community and a focus on strengthening the IBM Z ecosystem.
Over its long history, SHARE has grown and adapted to the changes in and the demands of the enterprise computing industry. Our volunteers have worked hard to put on another great conference this summer. We hope to further increase the number of hands-on experiences for attendees at future events.
While running for the position of SHARE treasurer, Jim Erdahl heard conversations that the organization's finances were in trouble. When elected, he kept those conversations at top of mind. Why were people saying these things? What he found was that SHARE was, and remains, financially healthy.
The Status of SHARE session is a cornerstone of SHARE’s semi-annual events, and serves as an opportunity for the board of directors to report on the association’s activities and field questions from delegates.
