z/OS V2.1 Migration Assistance

New news!  Today we just put an important new download on the z/OS Downloads page:

(http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/tools/downloads/index.html).  Well, I think it's pretty darn important because it deals with z/OS release migration.

This download is right at the top and is called "z/OSMF z/OS V2.1 Migration Workflow".  Clicking on that title will bring you to another page where you can read the details, and finallly, download the appropriate file you want at the bottom of the page.  There is one download file for R12->V2.1 migrations, and one for R13->V2.1.  Pick what you want.  No logon is required.

In order to use this download you do need to have z/OSMF V2.1 up and running (which requires z/OS V2.1), so I understand this this workflow helps you to get where you already are, but read the details about why I wanted to provide it now for z/OS V2.1.  I do have some method to my madness.

The z/OS migration workflow is provided "as is", but I will be doing my best to improve it any way that I can to make it useful to you.  You can send me a direct email with comments (mwalle@us.ibm.com).  Or if you want, you can send it to zosmig@us.ibm.com.   That email will forward onto me, so I'll see comments either way.  You could also comment on this blog post with any feedback you have.  I'll take it anyway I can get it.

I hope you enjoy this different way of providing z/OS migration material to you.  Personally, I'm pretty happy to have an alternate to PDF or InfoCenter.

Happy clicking.
