32025: WSC Experiences Measuring the IBM z16 Integrated Accelerator for AI

The Integrated Accelerator for AI (AIU) on the IBM z16 allows enterprises to deliver real time AI inferencing for their transaction heavy workloads. With these new capabilities come enhanced SMF records for understanding the performance characteristics of AI models exploiting the on-chip accelerator. Speakers will explore various SMF records including new Type 30 counters, CPU MF, and others. They will discuss their experience measuring the utilization and performance of the AIU by running workloads using different AI model types.
