BMC Software Executives to Speak at SHARE

HOUSTON, Jan 07, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BMC Software (NYSE:BMC) today announced that several of its executives will speak at the SHARE Conference and Trade Show February 24th through the 29th at Walt Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Orlando, Florida.

Anthony Orr, director, Global Best Practices, Education, will address "The Future of Best Practices in IT Service Management - ITIL Version 3," while Rosemary Galvan, principal software consultant, will present "A New Pair of Glasses for Your IMS Log Data," and Mark Rascoe, senior product manager, will discuss "Do You Really Know How Your Mainframe Applications are Running?"

Orr's presentation will discuss the changes implemented in ITIL Version 3 while Galvan's presentation will discuss how IMS systems programmers are tasked with investigating problems in IMS systems which require analyzing log data and how this can be a daunting task. This session will address how BMC Log Analyzer for IMS can alleviate this task by focusing only on the IMS records necessary to resolve a problem. Rascoe's presentation will discuss how BMC's leading mainframe automation solution, Mainview, can provide metrics proven useful for identifying problems that relate to both system- and workload-related issues. He will review real-world experiences in implementing and using metrics in Mainview to manage business applications.
